My path to being a therapist, who offers online counseling, was full of unexpected twists and turns. Through my work and life, I understand that not all things go as planned. Life changes whether anticipated or not, can trigger intense emotions that make it challenging to navigate day-to-day life. It might make it difficult to find your inner peace or cultivate gratitude. Let me help you travel through those emotional bumps in the road, whether it presents itself as anxiety, depression, stress, or a combination of all of the above.

Convenient & Efficient Online Therapy with an Empathic Therapist.

I obtained my master’s degree in mental health counseling, worked for a couple of years and then went on to get my doctorate in clinical psychology. Along the way I moved states, provided psychological services in various settings, got married, and had a baby. With each bump and life curve; I have leaned into my training. Searching for empirically proven tools and research that has helped me manage my own challenging emotions. All that means, is that when we work together, our sessions are grounded in sound training and empathy.

FAQS:

Got questions? Check out the frequently asked questions below.

  • Virtual therapy sessions have many advantages, the main one being savings in time. As long as you have enough bandwidth (i.e. ability to stream without any stops) and have a safe space to talk, we can have therapy. Although it took the events of 2020 to make virtual sessions popular, I have been conducting on-line therapy since 2018 and have seen the positive changes it can be bring.

  • Fit is important. That’s why I offer a free consultation, which serves as an opportunity for you to assess whether I am the right fit for you. During this free consultation, you can ask any questions you may have, gain an understanding of my therapeutic approach, and most importantly, determine if you feel comfortable working with me. This initial meeting is designed to establish a sense of connection and ensure that we are a good match in terms of your therapy needs and goals. Remember, it’s important to find a therapist who aligns with your values, understands your concerns, and creates a safe and supportive space for your healing journey.

  • Therapy comes in two parts; the first is understand of self and is about 40% of the work.

The second part is often more challenging, but equally important. It involves making changes to aspects of our lives that no longer serve us. The entire process can bring up difficult emotions and that is where therapy can be important. Unlike a friend or a Tik-Tok video, we won’t work to just placate it. We will work to understand the patterns, learn how to be kind to self, and regain balance.

  • I currently take Medicare.

  • I charge $170 a session

  • As a new mom, I understand that unexpected situations can arise, and flexibility is important. To accommodate this, both you and I will have the benefit of one free session cancellation in case of emergencies. If you have an urgent matter, you can cancel one session without any charge. Similarly, if something unexpected comes up on my end, I will also have the option of canceling a session.

However, after utilizing the one free cancellation, any subsequent session cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be subject to the full session fee. This policy is in place to ensure that appointment times are respected and to allow for proper scheduling and preparation.

  • Psychiatric medications can be helpful. I am a strong advocate for needing both medications and therapy, during certain stressful times in our life.

However, it’s important to understand that medication alone may not address the underlying issues or help one develop an understanding of self. Therapy, on the other hand offers a unique opportunity to explore and gain insight into one’s thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We can build on that insight to create more supportive patterns and develop coping skills, as well as cultivate resiliency.

  • It varies with person to person. Usually, we start with more regular session (i.e. weekly or every other week) and then space them further out. Some people prefer to keep their monthly sessions; others may decide to end therapy once they feel confident to handle life’s challenges on their own.

  • I provide individual counseling for those 18 and up. I do not discriminate based on age, race, or sexual orientation. I want you to feel comfortable with me, that is essential.
